Stop by to explore hands-on exhibits and educational activities about the Great Lakes, local watersheds, and the plants and animals that call them home. The Discovery Center is free and family-friendly, making it a great addition to your Water Is Life Festival weekend plans.

The Water Is Life Festival is an annual event that celebrates our connection to water and brings people together to support its protection. Indigenous women are at the heart of planning and leading the festival, reflecting their traditional role as protectors of water.

The 2026 Water Is Life Festival will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Petoskey.
