Our Fall Volunteer Stream Monitoring (VSM) season has officially wrapped up, and we couldn’t have done it without the dedication of our volunteers! This fall, teams headed out to streams across the watershed to gather stream data and collect macroinvertebrates, tiny aquatic insects that help us measure stream health.
While the field season is complete, the work isn’t over yet. Later this year, Watershed Council staff and volunteers will take a closer look at the collected samples to identify the macroinvertebrates and assess what they tell us about water quality.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who gave their time, energy, and curiosity to support this important program. Be sure to check out the photo gallery below to see our volunteers in action.
